I checked the Boston Globe, and supposedly the guess is that this will be a quicker-than-expected fix, which means boil-water-order will be days not weeks. Armed with that information, I decided to tackle the batch of dirty cookware from yesterday morning.
I finished washing one batch and only managed to scald myself with boiling water once. I have since decided that washing with boiled water is overrated and have bleached my sink in preparation for using it as the
bleach solution soak tank.
So now between the hot day, the steam from boiling several liters of water, and the bleach, my kitchen feels like it can't decide if it would like to be a swimming pool or a sauna and is trying to be both.
I'm bored of boiling water, but grateful that we still have running water. And the water doesn't even taste bad! much better than New Orleans or Barcelona city water!
