(do it do it do it do it) I've been blocked for so long now that I don't even know how long anymore. It's finally reached the point where I've stopped stressing over it, and chastising myself, and wishing things were different blah blah blah. Lia sent me a message out of nowhere asking if she and Fred could keep Biffno going, and suddenly it seemed like too much fun to miss. The writing isn't the important part; the month of insane hilarity is. The world needs more insane hilarity.

I'm turning 40 before the summer's over. I've been wondering how I'll take it. So far it's been a non-issue. I'm a little concerned about 50, though. 50 sounds like cresting the hill.

Along those lines, though...I've been crisis-y the past year or two, but I think I just got over it earlier today, suddenly, when I was cleaning the bathroom and listening to Metallica, which I haven't done in a long time (listening to Metallica I mean, though the bathroom was overdue for a cleaning, too). It hit me that that whole James crisis/Phil Towle/rehab/group therapy/talk everything out/whatever era of Metallica happened when they were around the age I am now, so, hey, it's my stupid mid-life "I suck and don't know what I'm doing or why I'm here" crisis, and it's probably just a stupid chemical/biological/hormonal/whatever, and fuck it I'm both tired of and bored with it. Time to let it go.

You sound amazingly busy.

Fandom-wise, I'm in love with Raylan Givens (played by Timothy Olyphant in "Justified"), but it's a pretty closed-off fandom 'cause I refuse to go look for anyone else who's into it too. I just keep to myself and, in my head, turn Raylan-as-played-by-Tim into an OC and stuff him into whatever epic tales I've got going in my head at any given time. Otherwise, I'm still pretty much stuck on Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, who I rarely write about--but always think into stories.
