I SUPERRR LOVE DR. ELIZABETH PROTACIO-DE CASTRO FOREVER :D

hahaha! i knew it i knew it, i'll love her forever :) big big big thanks to the psychsoc seniors (kuya drew and pauline alejandre -- ayyy congrats pala for passing the LAE interview wow!!!) who superrr sold dr. de castro to me. hahaha! i'm sooooooooooooo soooooooooooo glad i listened to your advice. from the first day, i knew i'd love her forever. teehee :) she made 4 1/2 hours of semi-nonstop listening to her on mondays and thursdays oh-so-worth it.

and i'm not saying this just because i got a smashin UNO IN  THE 118 :D I SUPER LOVE IT :D HEHEHE :D

after so many HEARTBREAKS in class due to all her criticisms (and mind you, super galing niya sobra magcriticize, sobrang ouch, after lahat ng pinagdaanan namin para mapaganda tapos dami criticisms, pero super namotivate at napakilos niya kami to really do well and to have critical minds), it was somehow surreal i got an uno. the highest i expected was a 1.25.

on the downside though, i got a friggin' dos in my 150 class. ugh sir delpi :((

but well, uno it is in 118 hahaha i'd rather have the dos in 150 than in 118 :))

shet buti na lang talaga 118 rescued my heart from breaking. i first saw my 118 grade kasi so kebs na lang sa dos (though my heart did break a little).

soooo, the point is, ladies and gentlemen, to the psych majors who haven't taken up 118 yet, take dr. elizabeth de castro. why? here, read:

1. she's one of the country's top seasoned psychologists
2. she was chosen by the UNICEF to work on some of its projects (that's why she didn't teach in the department for two years and i'm just oh-so-luckyyyy to be part of her only 118 class on her comeback)
3. she has SO MUCH TO SAY that you'd really know how much experienced and knowledgeable she is in what she's teaching. she just knows SO MUCH.
4. dreading the 4.5 hours of lec in 118? with dr. de castro, dread it not! i can assure you she can really hold your attention and keep you interested :)
5. according to her, in the past, first prize in research competitions always goes to her students, while some of her other students get a place, as well :D though we have yet to know that if it applies to us as well. syempre ayaw naman namin magexpect diba.
6. they say your work in 118 could be one of your masterpieces in your up psych life. if you want to ensure you're guided well, then take her. like what i've mentioned, she's so nitty-gritty with details, you'll know that when she commends you, you really did a great smashin' job :)
7. ready your hearts for many (and i mean many!) criticisms. at the end of it, you know you've acquired a critical mind, at least in psychological research.
8. she's so in tune with sikolohiyang pilipino! superrr inspiring, i say. it's her who really made me appreciate sp and its significance (and well, it helped that i took 108 with 118 ;) ). we've learned indigenous techniques from her and appreciated the differences of the indigenous methods from that of the foreign and more popular ones.

i don't know if she's just generous in checking our exams, or if she was really that good in teaching us that we got really high scores. (i got 96/100 on the first exam and 100/100 on the second!)

on the downside, she's so busy :( but well, i'd still say, GO FOR MA'AM DE CASTRO :) [formerly dr. protacio-marcelino, for the psych alumni who might be confused ;) ]

sayang, konti na lang US na sana eh. haha. 1.485 :)) a far shot from my 1.263 nung first sem, but hell yeah, i'm still happy :)

this summer, i'm aiming for an uno in my I/O Psych and my Phil. Govt courses :) 1.25 won't break my heart, but i'd aim for an uno :)

hayy looking back on my 118 days, sobrang nakakaluha. hehe.. i mean, sa lahat ba naman ng "exercises" na pinagdaanan namin (sus, yung mga "exercises" lang na yun i super effort at puyatan na!), sa lahat ng paghihirap... grabe, ang fulfilling. ang sarap ng feeling. naaalala ko yung one time nga na naiyak pa ko sa tuwa nung napapayag ko yung mga fratmen from masig (guys sobraaaaaang thank you ang babait niyo!) na sumali sa ginabayang talakayan namin. hello, after facing so many rejections. tapos super apprehensive pa kami lapitan sila nung una tapos ang nice nice naman nila. haha, kasi pagdating sa pakikiusap sa mga tao, ako usually yung pinapaharap nila lalo na sa mga fratmen. hahaha ang kapal lang ng mukha ko eh noh. i remember one time pa, sa vinzons tambayan, nung nag-ikot kaming dalawa ni duch, lahat hindi pwede kasi may GA daw hahaha kumusta diba. basta, ilan lang yun. at para lang yan dun sa actual research namin. hello, yung pagpapanggap sa divisoria, pag-iinterview sa supreme court, ethnomethodolgy sa wowowee at kung anu-ano pa. haaaayyyyy super memorable talaga ng klaseng to. do check out my multiply for some of our 118 pics :)

so far, my most favorite psych subjects also happened to be the ones where i got an uno. first, my 140 with sir mike luistro (sir, you'll always be someone memorable, thank you so much for the impact you've made on my life!), and second, my 118 with the dr. de castro. you know the common denominator?

both professors were able to inspire me so much that i became so passionate with the subject matter :) and so i did my very best; it's two-way, always.
