For the last two weeks we've been trying to adopt a
cute kitten through a rescue organization named the
Homeless Pets Foundation and while I greatly wish for all of the 320,000+ pets in the Atlanta area that need a home to find a home, I want to greatly dissuade people from adopting a pet through this organization.
At first we had to fill out a lengthy application that was more involved then a job application for the NSA; and communication with the organization has been strained to say the least. They want the entire history of pet ownership and then they felt the need to drag the whole sorry story of what happened to Tickles out to ridiculous proportions.
I know my cat was young when she died
I know I tried everything I could to help her survive
No, I don't operate a Chinese restaurant
Yes, we have another Cat in the house
No, I don't want to adopt more then one cat
Yes, I will vaccinate my Cat
No, I don't remember all the Vets my Cat saw in the last 4 years (We didn't find a Vet I was comfy with until the day she died)
And then the Foster mom of
Daisy seems to have gotten really attached to this kitten. Which I'm okay with, but if you don't want to adopt out the cat then don't place her on the adoptable list. Or if you don't want to adopt the kitten to me ... then just say so ... don't give me the run around to two weeks.
The
Homeless Pets Foundation has until tonight to get their shit in order, over 150,000 Cats need a home in the Atlanta area need a home and I'm offering my home to one of them ... and somehow after 32 years of Cat ownership ... these people are the first people that make me feel bad about being a Cat owner. I think they misunderstand the concept of being a rescue organization.
Edit: We called them last night to find out what was going on, we should know on Saturday if Daisy will have a new home. If not, we'll go look somewhere else .. there are so many cats that need a home.
