Ah, Fairfax, where Deadheading hasn’t burned out yet - the Pepsi machine in the Laundromat has tons of “I’d Rather Be Tripping” and “Let It Grow” and other paraphernalia 60s-backwash bumper stickers all over it. They’re also playing old post-Beatles John Lennon on the radio station, which has to be local; who plays Dream #9?

I took off the 18th and 19th today so I have 4 days straight with which to wander through California’s Lost Coast; now I’ll stop wondering whether or not I’m going to do it, because I used two months’ leave up and I don’t have a choice. Just now got your message, Kat, and I would be there if I could, but cost and short notice together, y’know, but all the best and dance a lot like I would if I were there. The words “open bar” might get me there ;).

This weekend I have a choice between the last day of Santa Rosa’s Harmony Festival, an old fashioned California outdoor music and lifestyle fair (lots of nudity and drug use I’m imagining) where I could wander around having fun and see The Roots at 7pm, OR go into San Francisco for the 80-minute airing of 10 banned Warner Brothers Bugs Bunny cartoons that are from back in the days when sexism and racism were unchastised. I’m leaning towards Santa Rosa, but the other’s still tempting. Also a Matisse sculpture exhibit, I didn’t know he sculpted. Ah, the beauty of living near a massive city.

I notice I don’t dress anywhere near as fashionably as most people here, but that’s also because I’m simply not willing (at this point) to spend lots of money for clothes I’m going to wear after work. Also, setting up a landline with our phone is a pain in the ass. Still nothing from our phone jack, but I called the number and it's activated.
