Hi, Rhapsody,

I have finally been able to read “Requiem” and I wanted to get back to you with a very brief first impression
The subject matter is, well, tragic and angsty indeed (the title isn’t misleading in the least).
In my view the story falls into two parts: chapters 1 to 4 and then chapters 5 and 6; I have different opinions about them: The shifting POV in the first chapters makes them a little hard to follow at times: who's talking now? And what’s happening in the Vana chapter isn't all that clear.
On the other hand, I really liked very much the last two chapters: there aren't too many stories about Dagor Dagorath and to see a redeemed Celegorm through the eyes of Huan is a wonderful perspective.
The last chapter where Celegorm actually wants to retrieve the last Silmaril although this will mean the end of their world is another great idea (poor Maglor! You got him wandering to the very end).
The use of quotations from the Requiem Mass throughout gives the whole piece a very melancholic -I’m not sure this is the word I want to use, but I can’t find any better- frame although I suppose it depends on the reader’s background (in my case it reminded me of the funeral of my husband’s grandmother)
The Silm-like style is adequate to the subject matter but it doesn’t make it any easier to read.
All in all, I found it very original as regards the subject matter and the treatment of the story.

Regards
Angelica
