Loved your post this week Elise, any hoo..the funiest thing is I can actually hear you saying it. You brought up a really good point that I had forgoten about, the sarcasam of "love". It is a term that has its own Australian meaning when it is used in a sarcastic way,I am wondering whether the British do as well? Any hoo, the sarcasam of it, 'listen you bastard, think I'm going to hang around forever, waiting for you to get drunk and knock me around, well there's no more love...love". I still feel though that there is an element of saddness to the poem.
