LU19

Okay, so I'm really bored, it's 3:45 on a Friday, so I tried logging in to do some tradeskilling with my Iksar. (She's going to be an Alchemist.) Lo and behold, I think the login servers are down. Actually, that doesn't bother me, though I'm sure if I go to the forums there will be incessant whining. Since I don't want to listen to that, I'm posting here. I made this icon especially for times like this.

Okay, yeah, so getting all the updated spells pop up on your hotbar is annoying, but you have to remember this: these are the spells for levels 19 and below. If you're above the age of using 'em, just kill 'em off. Some may replace the spells you already have on your hotbar. That's okay. Open your knowledge book, arrange it by level and going sideways, and reorganize your hotbars. Actually, I now have more space on my hotbars because it helped clear out some of the other spells I no longer needed...like how I was still using Weakness (a Tier 1 shaman or druid spell, I believe) because I could. Now it's gone. No big deal.

ktok and I went out to the Ferrott lsat night for a little XP'ing. The mentoring system is SO nice, and we were going through yellow-conning heroics with no problem. Remember, Heroic mobs are supposed to be for groups of 3 or more. They are NOT supposed to be soloed. I remember one particularly stupid wizard got all upset when they changed it and she couldn't solo heroic groups anymore. Hell, she couldn't solo much of anything, but I DID mention she was a particularly stupid wizard. Granted, Ktok and I have all rare armor, weapons, and don't use spells or abilities below App4. That helped out a lot.

Another interesting thing...they've got NPC's rebuilding the Wizard spires out in the Ferrott, and it's looking like that's how we're going to be getting up to Sky for the new KoS expansion. Again, I'm a bit miffed about this, the same way I was in EQ1 when they added in the NPC to go to the Plane of Hate. I LOVED porting groups to Hate. It was a great way to earn some cash, and unlike the Plane of Sky, it didn't kill off your buffs. Your KEI wouldn't disappear so you didn't have to go beg a chanter (or in my case, bat my eyelashes at twistednymph's brother! *LOL*) for your crack fix. And the run home was faster. (Not to mention, I nearly had heart attacks every time I had to jump off the islands...that fear of heights thing, you know?)

Hey, I'm protective of the Wizard class and our porting abilities because that's why I became a Wizard in EQ1 in the first place. To have that taken away in EQ2 was a blow, but if they are making it so you can talk to NPC's again, I think I'll cry.

But anyway, talking to the NPC's rebuilding the spires was pretty interesting. I'm curious to see if they're going to handle that like rebuilding the griffin towers in Nektulos and Thundering Steppes.

Finally, I noticed when I tried logging in today: when you hit Play after the patching screen, it launches into the original EQ2 trailer. It's so pretty. Granted, it's not in-game graphics, but it still gets me emotional. I mean, I watched it an thought, "Wow, yeah...THIS is why I play the game. I had forgotten!" You can click to bypass the trailer, but I still love watching it. Plus, Antonia Bayle's companion (other than the hero guy who's supposed to be "you") is a tiger-stripey Kerra that looks like Ktok. I'm so biased!

I need to work on my RP stories for Aili and Tay again sometime soon. But Reavyn needs to come back online. *pout* He's been missing for a few days now and I'm worried. It's not like him.

Tmitka will be dinging 36 tonight, I know that. I'll see about using my XP potions tonight. Soon the SpottyCat will be in ebon armor!
