Mental sewing

Bodice: Nearly done. Completed most of the embroidery tonight. Considering another round to make it stand out more. But I *do* like subtlety.

Tomorrow: Lining. Haven't even cut it out yet. Once I get past procrastinating on the cutting, putting it together and sewing it into the bodice should go fast.

Saturday: Stomacher day. Cutting, putting together, embroidery. Should prove to be interesting.

Get all that done, and then I'll have Sunday to catch up on other tasks. I might get caught up this weekend!

I found another scan of the portrait today that shows the forepart/undersleeves material significantly more pewter in color as opposed to the gold-and-black in the portrait I had originally started from. Ah well. I *did* search for material in the pewter-silver color family and didn't find anything that worked. If I ever do, perhaps I'll make a new kirtle or just change the skirt and make some new undersleeves. But that will be later. MUCH later.

Note to self: Remember to get more corset stays for front opening of gown and edges of stomacher. Do NOT hem it shut until boning is in place!

While I'm waiting for those to come in, I'll cut out the skirt and skirt lining at Dad's next week and put that together. Scary!

Five weeks left. Am I really closing in on getting everything done?
