Stuff
1. We're going up to Virginia to visit krystalbrowning and Moomee and Dad this weekend. Leaving tonight after ktok gets home and showers. We're doing the "celebrate 4 birthdays at once" thing. I'm looking forward to some time away.
2. I have one load of laundry in the wash, and another ready to go. I wish I knew what happened to all my summer-weight shirts (like t-shirts and things)...I can't find them. When I put away clothes for storage last time, I put away winter clothes, so my summer stuff should still be out. But...do I just not own much in the way of casual summer tops?
3. My ankle is still sore, but getting better. I wanted to do the set of bellydance classes starting next week (beginner armwork and zills), but I think it's best to continue to let it heal.
4. We got the first DVD of Elfen Lied, thanks to the influence of twistednymph. I like it so far. It's pretty...shocking isn't the word. Not an anime I'd let a child watch. To put it mildly, in the first 4 episodes, the main character is naked for a good majority of the time, and the body count is around 30...23 of which happen in the first 5 minutes. And yet, it's good and I want the next DVD. I'm just surprised that we found it at Best Buy, considering their policies of what they will sell.
5. Speaking of anime, I forgot to tell estuelke about the t-shirt that kalachandra and I saw that we wanted to get her! And if we had known they had it in purple, we DEFINITELY would have gotten it, but they sold out. It was just a plain t-shirt with this phrase on it: "I'm listening to everything you're sayi...OOOOH LOOK, A KITTY!" I also liked the t-shirt that said, "The Philosopher's Stone...IS PEOPLE!" You can get them at Aardvark Screenprinting.
6. I don't know how Sumie can be so fat and Edward can be so skinny. We're going to have to shove Sumie into the Ratamari for a half hour or so every day to make sure she gets more exercise.
7. I need to find or buy more mechanical pencils. Makes drawing really hard when you can only find one, but you KNOW there are more around here somewhere. I wonder if our pixie has stolen those too?
8. My brother's been home for like a week now. He never called to do anything. I'm supposed to drive him to the airport on Monday. Since I'll be gone this weekend, that will be the only time I see him before he goes to Korea. Asshole.
9. We're supposed to have thunderstorms tonight. I hope we get to Virginia before they hit.
10. Just an amusing thing we noticed: While at Best Buy and looking at the Nintendo DS games, ktok and I saw the multiple copies of the new "The Bible Game" out for every platform. But what caught our eye and made us laugh was that, at least in the DS section, it was like the only game that didn't have theft protection on it.
11. Since I'm on the topic of religion, I've been taking a major break from interactive Pagan things, and it's felt so good. I'm actually glad SOLP classes are over for the summer (though I do still look forward to the get-togethers, just glad the classes are over for a bit), I've been taking an extended break from updating my website (but do keep tabs on the forum...I just don't jump in and respond to every post because I don't want people to feel that since the site owner has spoken, that's the end of the thread), and I haven't been to MysticWicks or any other forum in months. But I'm fine with this. Everyone needs a break every now and then.
12. I forgot to toss the shirt I'm wearing in with the second load of laundry. Shit.
13. Must remember to find and pack my earplugs.
