IHey guys! I edited chapter 1 and wrote some more:

Chapter 1

Kaylie signed the paper and gave it to the big guy standing behind her desk. She couldn’t help but feeling like this was the wrong thing to do. She didn’t have a choice really. Wasn’t this what she was working for her whole life? Wasn’t this why she started ballet so early, to be a professional ballerina? But why was her heart telling her that this was wrong. Was it because she was leaving her best friends and her boyfriend of three years? Was it because she would miss her parents that encouraged her through all her years of training? Was it because she was signing a contract that stated that she had to be fully committed to the most professional dance school in the world that would be in England? That that school had a record a mile long of horrible injuries as well as successful dancers who became famous? She knew that she was about to face years of hard core training. Her schedule would be wake up, dance till lunch, dance till dinner, and dance shows every night. But she would do all it took to become one of the most famous dancers in the world even if it meant working till your body physically couldn’t handle it.

Kaylie’s hands couldn’t stop shaking as the man smiled. “Welcome to The Dance Academy Of England.” The man said in a gruff voice that made Kaylie’s throat itch. “Your flight will be tomorrow at eight in the morning, that means that you should be in the airport by seven and your class starts the day after tomorrow at six in the morning, that means you should wake up at five if you want breakfast. The cafeteria closes right after every meal. If you’re hungry you get a snack in the break room. You’re only allowed to go to the break room at your breaks in class which is after every two hours. Breaks will be twenty minutes long. Your instructor for the rest f the year will be Mikhail Dominsky. He’s the strictest instructor so good luck.” At those words the man left Kaylie’s house.  Kaylie’s heart skipped a beat and she quickly jerked her head. Her instructor was Mikhail Dominsky? He was known as the strictest and meanest instructor in the world. Kaylie breathed deeply. She was going to get though this. She knew it.  The next morning she left her house with her Louis Vuitton suitcases and a Vera Bradley bag where she kept her confidence so it would always be with her.

Kaylie sat in first class and repeated the dance routine she learned a few weeks ago in her head. She was almost done when someone interrupted on the last move.

“Pardon me, but what are you doing?” The girl on the aisle across from her looked at Kaylie and pointed at her hands. It took Kaylie a few moments to understand what the girl was asking about. Kaylie was moving her hands along with the beat of the music of her dance routine.  She blushed and put her hands on her lap.

“Sorry, I didn’t notice I was doing that. It’s just I was- “

“Going through your dance routine?” The girl asked, “I just finished.” Kaylie couldn’t help but stare at this girl. She did dance too, this could mean…

“I’m going to The Dance Academy Of England too, my second year. I came to California for summer vacation to see my parents. Is it going to be your first year?”

“Yah, it is. How did you know?”

“You’re nervous, I can see it. Who’s your head instructor?”

“Mikhail Dominsky.” Kaylie tried to smile as she said his name but all she could do was grimace.

“Oh my gosh! Me too, we’re going to have so much fun together!” The girl squealed and jumped on her seat. Kaylie examined this girl. If you had to show a picture of beauty, she would be in it. She had long wavy golden hair with light brown roots and her face was perfectly tan. The girl’s eyelashes curled up and it didn’t have clumps which meant she didn’t put on mascara. Her lips where plump and her eyes where brownish green and her smile was amazing: showing the perfect amount of teeth but not too much. Kaylie felt a small pang of jealousy, why couldn’t she be that pretty.

“Sorry, I didn’t catch your name.” The girl looked at Kaylie with kind eyes.

“My names Kaylie, Kaylie Ro. What’s yours?”

“My names Laura Larson, mind if I sit there?” The Laura pointed at the seat next to Kaylie, which was empty.

“Sure.” Kaylie smiled and cleared the seat. She put her bag and magazines under the seat. “So do you have any friends?” Kaylie gasped and put her hands over her moth after she asked that question. How could she be so rude! Laura laughed and smiled. Kaylie’s shoulders relaxed, she wasn’t offended.

“I have friends here and there. My best friend’s name was Karen Gomez.”

“Was? What do you mean?” Kaylie asked and then gasped. Was that too personal? “I’m sorry!”

“No, it’s totally fine. At the end of every school year before summer break, agents come and watch the Year End Show that we do every year. They pick five girls from the whole school and take them to perform as background dancers for people like Justin Timberlake, IYAZ, and other singers. Karen was one of the five girl’s last yea. Now she dances for Jennifer Lopez.”

“She dances for Jennifer Lopez? That’s amazing. Do you think I might have a chance?” Kaylie looked Laura.

“You’re only allowed to get scouted if you’re sixteen or older. Karen was one of the few exceptions. I’m happy for her, now she’s in France. We Skyped every night this summer but we kind of stopped near the end. She’s too bust.” Laura showed a flash of disappointment on her face but she quickly smiled. “I only have one more year till I can be scouted. How old are you?”

“I’m fifteen too, my birthdays on January eighth.” Laura’s face froze and her mouth created an ‘O’. Kaylie stared. “What’s wrong?” She asked

“You’re joking right?” Laura sounded happy.

“Uh, no. My birthday really is January eighth.”

“Mine is too! O my god, now your gonna tell me that your dorm room is number eighty six on the seventh floor!”

“How did you know my dorm number?” Suddenly Kaylie realized and she laughed. “You’re in dorm eighty six aren’t you?” Laura nodded and shrieked.

“This is so exciting! We’re going to have so much fun!”  Laura took Kaylie’s hands and jumped on her seat.

“Do you have any advice for me?” Kaylie looked at Laura and waited.

“Well…um just try to watch out for Mikhail. He’s really mean. Hey I’m gonna go to the bathroom. I’ll be right back.” Laura stood up and walked away.

Kaylie sighed and but her feet up on her chair. She hugged her knees and looked out the airplane window. All she could see was large pieces of cotton balls passing around the plane. She couldn’t help thinking about her friends back in San Diego. Would they approve of Laura? Or would they say she’s suspicious. Kaylie always thought that girls who looked this perfect where always mean. But maybe Laura was different. Maybe Laura was a nice friend who would always stick by Kaylie. Kaylie smiled and closed the window. Where was Laura anyway? She left at leas twenty minutes ago. Kaylie got p from her seat and walked down the aisle to the bathroom. She stopped when she heard Laura’s voice. She saw Laura talking to another group of girls.

“Yah the new girl looks very nice. I just hope Mikhail won’t like kill her because she’s probably really good, and you all know how he teaches. If someone’s good, he becomes really mean to them so they would try harder. Remember when he did that to Talia? She had to quit because he made her cry every day. I just don’t want that to happen to Kaylie.”

Kaylie froze. She knew that her instructor would be mean but not that mean, would he really make her cry? Or was Laura overreacting? Yah, she was probably just overreacting, she probably just wanted to scare the other girls, right? She tried to run back to her seat but somehow she managed to trip over another person’s seat and fall face first into the blue carpet. She lay there, trying to be as still as possible and hoping that people wouldn’t notice her.

“Kaylie, Are you all right?” Laura’s voice echoed. Kaylie looked up and saw Laura kneeling over Kaylie.

“Yah, I’m fine. It’s just, is he really going to be that mean to me?” Kaylie gasped. Laura’s face changed from worry to sympathy.

“No, it won’t be that bad Kaylie! We’re going to get through this together, I promise.”

Kaylie smiled and nodded. She felt a lot better knowing that she had a wonderful friend by her side to get her through the tough times waiting for her in the future.

“Now c’mon bestie,” Laura said to as she looped her arm through Kaylies and walked back to their seats. “Let’s go annoy the flight attendant, and flirt wit guys.”

Kaylie giggled. Her heart lightened and it felt a lot lighter, like the new IPad 2. What was she so worried about? She was going to the best Dance Academy in the world. She had a new best friend. And she was the happiest girl in the world. So what if her instructor was going to be a jerk. She knew that she would get through any obstacles that Dominsky would throw at her. She was safe as long as no one else would try to hurt her.

Chapter 2

Kaylie was standing in the long line slowly leaving the plane. Her ears kept popping but she didn’t mind. She was standing with Laura and they where flirting with the boy in front of them. His name was David and they where batting their eyes at him for the whole flight. Near the end he finally started flirting back and Laura even gave their number to him. David had the cutest British accent and it turned out that he was going to The Dance Academy Of England too. Oh how Kaylie loved her life right now! After about ten minutes of walking out of the plane and half an hour checking out and getting their luggage. Kaylie and Laura walked out of the airport.

“So, how are we getting there?” Kaylie asked.

“Look.” Laura pointed to a group of at least a hundred boys and girls crowded around ten busses.

“This must be the third round already. Laura said as she joined the group.

“Third, you mean there’s more?” Kaylie looked at the ten busses. She was starting to get sweaty palms and her head was spinning. There ere so many people!
