Along the back row, a hunched over figure lurks along the bottom rungs of the wall. Diligently shifting through column after column of merchandise. Achingly, the man rises to begin his search among the many titles of games in a new row. A sigh of despair is released, almost like an exhale of cigarette smoke, and I trace it with my eyes to the ceiling. He admits defeat, turns about face, and commences his trudge toward the exit.
Rapidly picking at his older sister’s jacket, the little munchkin desperately pleas with her to “Let me have a try!” Of course this all emits from his slobber crusted mouth as “WAH WAH WAH!” but its underlying meaning is crystal. The sister is tiptoeing to her greatest ability to have a clear view of the game she is playing. It is apparent the minute man doesn’t come close to being tall enough to partake in the action, but in all fairness, “it’s his turn!”
Tap. Tap. Tap. “Hello there, could you answer a question I have…” My attention is diverted yet again, as I assist an elderly couple in over their heads at Circuit City. “ I have this new fangled contraption…”
