It isn't often they get to hang out together outside work.They're both always busy.Always being with someone else.Always having something in their hands to handle that they never have time for each other.One time,Jun thought,one time would be enough.Just one time.
But Jun had wasted that one precious chance he had been given.They were alone in the greenroom,waiting for the rest to arrive.He had had the conversation running,talking to Nino about work,about Takeuchi Yuko,about everything.But Jun didn't manage to gather his courage to just tell Nino,how much he loves him,how much he longed for Nino to be his.
And now in his sleepless nights,he can only wish Nino was there with him,sharing his thoughts,sharing his dreams,sharing his life,saving him from loneliness.After much considering,he thought he'd have to finally tell Nino of his feelings.It was all he could do to save himself from being devoured by the darkness of a lonely world.
However,it was all too late.
They were out in the sun,much to Nino's dismay,basking the warmth of summer,when Jun finally had the bravery to confess.He was about to tell Nino when the phone ringed.
"Yes?Ah.Okay I get that.I'll buy them on the way home.Sure thing.I love you too Ohchan."
It was enough to make Jun's heart crumbled.Enough to engulf Jun with black emotional curtain.It must have been obvious that he was upset because he felt Nino's hand covering his.Only when Nino spoke that he noticed,his eyes were wet from the realisation.
"I didn't know Jun.You should have told me earlier.A few months ago would've made a huge difference.I'm sorry." And he was left alone.
The sun was no longer warm but scorching hot,as if torturing Jun's already painful soul.The birds singing celebrating summer felt like laughter,making fun of his heart break.The flowers are no longer pretty,they seemed to be there,only to mock Jun's sadness.Jun laughed at himself,pathetic,he thought.Despite the soft laughter,along was his tears,flowing slowly.
That night,he clutched tightly to his pillow,crying his heart out,knowing there'll be no way his empty bed would be filled by someone he loves.He was just too late.
