Oh, almost forgot. Did you know that if you choose a viewing before cremation, you have to rent a coffin, if not buy one? I'm learning all kinds of interesting things. But you would think, even if you had to rent a coffin, they could get one that the body would fit in! The thing was about five or six inches too short so they had him scooted way up on the pillow with his chin buried in his chest. Odd that nobody else mentioned this, at least to my knowledge.

I actually started a litst for Jeff - people he needs to call, who can call others. Since, of course, he'll be a trainwreck and not really be able to call anyone.

And I've been grabbing poems. Since I'm agnostic, it's not so easy to grab a few nice bible verses to give people comfort, when they know I didn't buy all that. So I'll be stacking up poems and pictures and keep it as easy on him as possible.

Were he to go first, I know what he wants, and making that happen would keep me moving. Jeff would just be overwhelmed and feel guilty later.

You know him better than I of course, but I can see that. I'd like to think I would be a rock if Kim were to go before me. Based on all previous close family member loss, I *have* been the one to hold it together. But who knows when that time comes. *shrug*

Anyway, it is a really good idea to be preparing something in advance. I think I will be making a more conscious effort from now on.

Well, and I'm all about crazyness, per the usual, too. So I'd like to give my body to science. This requires a great deal more effort on the part of the family than any other method of 'dealing' with the body.

Oh, of course. ;-)

Kim and I are both donors of 'whatever is usable', as well. We decided that bit together way back.
