"See, what I figure is-actually, Carter did the math-but the way I see it is, you've got three, maybe three and a half minutes of air left in that compartment." Next to him his 2IC winces. "Alright, five," he amended with a pointed look in her direction. She shrugged as he turned his attention back to their prisoner. "Well, either way, you're out of air loooong before your buddies'll get back. So, tell us what we need to know and we'll let you out."
The man stared back at SG-1 through three inches of bullet-proof glass. "Never."
"Yeah, didn't think so. Alright team, let's move out."
The man's still form suddenly jumped to life. "Human, kree! I am your God! You will be punished for this insolence!"
Jack paused, spun on his heel and regarded the false god. "Yeah, yeah, and if it weren't for us meddling kids…heard it all before, buddy."
Daniel scrunched his eyebrows together but didn't add to Jack's comments. Sam and Teal'c remained similarly silent. They made their exit without further conversation, but in the hall Daniel stopped them, "Guys, I'm not so sure this is our wisest decision…"
"What, then, Daniel? I suppose you'd have us let him go?"
He shrugged, "Actually, that was exactly what I was thinking."
Jack let out a surprised laugh, "Uh, Daniel, you do know that guy's a Gould, right?"
"Yes, Jack, I noticed."
"And?" he returned.
"And I think we should let him go."
"Explain, DanielJackson."
"I think he'll lead us right to the base."
"Daniel, not even the Gould are that stupid."
"I'm not so sure, Jack. He led us here."
"Right. Good point."
"So…?"
"So?"
"Daniel, we are not letting another Gould go! Been there, done that, not the best results, if you recall. Besides, this has got to be hurting our reputation by now; big, bad SG-1 always letting the bad guys go."
"O'Neill, I believe DanielJackson has a superior plan."
"'Superior'…what. Teal'c have you completely lost your mind? Carter?" At least she'd agree with him. She always agreed with him.
"Actual, sir. I think I'm with Daniel and Teal'c on this one."
"Oh for cryin' out loud! This is nuts. You all think-this is nuts. Need I remind you of Nirrti?"
"Jack, think about it. We let him think he escaped, he'll immediately ring back to his ship and fly right to the base."
"So, what? We unlock the airlock, hide around the corner?"
"No, I was thinking maybe we could make it look like one of us was having second thoughts about killing him."
"You are having second thoughts about killing him! All three of ya."
"Fine, Jack. Whatever. We'll struggle a little bit, make it look good."
"I can't believe we're discussing this. It's a Gould! Our sworn enemy. This will so not work."
