Staycation Scenes: Yankee Stadium

I'm not entirely sure what was wrong with the old Stadium, but apparently it needed to be replaced.

Steinbrenner and Bloomberg teamed up to build a new one.  Its no longer "The House That Babe Built".  But I will say that it is very nice on the outside.  We got hot dogs and some water for lunch outside the park.  Yum.  Its not really baseball until there is a dirty-water dog in your belly.  We got to the Park a little on the late side and could not spend any time at the Hall of Heros or Memorial Park, but it was PERFECT weather for a ball game.

We had seats in the upper deck of 3rd baseline and promptly took pictures for all our baseball loving friends.  One of our better decisions as parents was getting Child is own seat to give him space to be wiggly.  He seemed to enjoy it.  Of course we forgot a hat and sunscreen for him...because that's what we do.  So he got a genuine NY Yankees hat, which he was reasonably good about keeping on.

We all had a really good time, with the exception of the score.  Yanks got spanked 7-2 by the Texas Rangers.  Child surprised us by lasting through the entire game.  The only part of the day that sucked was getting out of the parking garage; it took over an hour.  The game finished at the same time rush hour started.  Major Deegan was a parking lot.

We went to Arthur Avenue for dinner via surface streets.

DH had such a good time, he is considering doing it again while I am at work. Taggers-on always welcome.
