So it turns out
this is not a bad date idea. Unfortunately, the particular combination of birthdays (in Minutes/Seconds form rather than just "after the decimal point") doesn't really work. We went as close to one as we could, about a mile to the west of the actual point, on Swanton road, north of Santa Cruz (
37 03 29 N, 122 13 31 W). Incidentally, this is near where 539 used to camp. If we switched latitude and longitude, we'd end up near Sanborn-Skyline park, but still quite a bushwhack away from any road. I'm just glad we didn't end up in the ocean.
