A Doll's house
I am glad to know that I was not the only one to think that this play was weird. I had trouble understanding the movie because the order in which the characters were not similar to the play we read. I enjoyed it more reading it that watching it. When I read it I understood that Nora, the wife, was suffering because she did not want her husband to know that she borrowed money from someone when he was ill. But the truth is that she was a doll in her husband’s hand. She will do anything to please him because she did not know any better. So really she was suffering from being treated as just a simple wife that had to live a life according to her husband’s ideology. The whole story was just too much for me. I really did not like it; it did not grab my attention at all. I guess it is because I did not like the way Nora thought about things and how she was manipulated by her husband and family. Also I did not like the fact that Nora’s friend at the end stays with the guy that was blackmailing Nora….What??? Ahhh not a good story for me at all.
