(no subject)
Sick sick sick. Stayed home on Monday, not feeling so well after the Dickens fair, thought it was just a bad allergy attack (denial). The added bonus of a little asthma should have tipped me off (mom always said that I'd get an asthma attack whenever I caught something viral), but denial is a powerful thing. Went to work Tuesday, felt worse and worse as the day went on. Took a nap after work, then accepted Sorcia's offer to come to her place and be spoiled and pampered. No work today, not going in tomorrow. I don't even know if I have enough sick time left to cover this. Oh well. I know better than to go back to work too soon, every time I do that it just comes right back and I end up taking more time off.
So, needless to say, nothing entertaining happening here. :) Oh, well, I did have a minor (felt very major at the time) crisis in the shower. Was cleaning my piercings with a q-tip, and somehow managed to spin the ball off the barbell of my left piercing. Talk about panic, serious panic. I'm talking "RUN! The portal is closing! We'll never get back to our home planet!!!" type panic. Thankfully, I managed to find it all on the floor of the shower. I wiggled the barbell back in place with less difficulty than I had anticipated, and then tried to get the ball screwed on. This right here is a great argument for gauging up. I don't have very big hands, but it sure felt like I did as I tried to get the barbell back together. That thing is fucking tiny. I got out of the shower, dried my hands off, and still couldn't do it. I dropped the little ball like three times (almost dropped it down the sink once), and each time I'd wash it off and try to screw it back in and drop it again. I was afraid I was going to have to put some tape on it and drive out to the piercing parlor. But I eventually managed to get it back together. I was not too entertained, but I'd wager that it would have been pretty funny to watch me freaking out.
And that's about it for today. I think I'm going to go curl up with Sorcia and maybe watch a movie.
