Well, it's been a while again. I'm still slacking, but I'm still blaming that on the lack of contents EDIT: This was supposed to say comments, but I was tired, unhealthy, and generally not paying attention. Nevertheless, I've gotten a respectable amount of comments on my entry. Thanks.. I really don't have much of an incentive if no one is going to read.
I guess the first thing I should mention is Otakon. It was cool, but it wasn't nearly as fun as last year. People didn't seem as into it for some reason. Last year when I went, it was obvious that everyone was there for the love of one thing, and to have fun loving it. This year, it seemed like everyone was distant; it seemed like they were all just random strangers. It didn't feel any different walking through the convention than it did walking down the streets of Baltimore. So next year they will feel my wrath...
Then I came back, went to class and got a cold. Living off of nothing but Chex Mix and Peanut M&Ms for four days with minimal sleep then not recovering properly will do that. I suppose I had it coming. Except for my health, though, classes are alright. They range from the dull to the spiffy, and I'm sure I'll get annoyed with some of them by the end of the semester, but these things happen. It seems my two CS classes are going to become polar opposites--one encompassing everything I hate about CS and one encompassing everything I like. The first is CS 250-Intro to Software Engineering, and as anyone who reads this thing knows, I hate "software engineering". Moreover, it's taught by the professor from last semester that I hated so much. Apparently she remembers me, too, because when taking attendance the first day, she would call the name, wait for the response, and then say "Thank you." Then, however, when she got to me, instead of just telling me, "Thank you," she responded with, "Good morning, Carter," in a tone reminiscent of Seinfeld greeting Newman. My other CS class, though, should be pretty cool. It's on all the spiffy stuff tying software (the stuff that irritates me) with hardware (what we real engineers do), and thus the software can't stray too far from what it should be. Furthermore, my professor is cool so far. Firstly, he said that if we do well on our tests, we don't have to take the final. Secondly, he encouraged us to through stuff at him. That class should be amusing this semester. Otherwise, Signals and Systems should be dull and early and somnulent, Statistics should also be dull and a general waste of time, Modern Algebra should be amusing on its own level, and Russian will just be ducky.
Furthermore, I'm developing my greatest plan ever to get back at the drunks in Morgantown (even greater than rolling them down with that wheel), and anyone who wants to get involved should contact me. Hopefully I can go through with it... Otherwise, not a lot has been going on. So, I guess I'm off until next time. The more replies I get, the sooner that will be. If you need something to comment on, give me some ideas for new icons again. Adieu.
