Terrible Movie

UGH! I just got back from watching "Children of Men". HORRIBLE movie. Don't waste your $8.50.

***SPOILERS TO FOLLOW!***

Basically, the movie is set ~50 years from now, and all women on the planet have mysteriously gone sterile. Miraculously, this one woman gets pregnant (no info on how or with who or anything). The whole movie, she and the main guy run around with their heads cut off trying to protect the mom and then kid (who, naturally, must be born in the most difficult situation ever).

I went in with three questions:
1.) What caused women to go sterile so suddenly?
2.) Why can this one woman have a child?
3.) How does the rest of the world respond to her child, and can anyone else now have them?
None of these questions were even brushed upon. What was left was just an action flick with no depth to it whatsoever. James Bond, but with more annoying characters and a more depressing motif.

***BIG SPOILER!!!***

Actually, I thought that absolute WORST part of the movie was after the kid was born and all the soldiers are staring at her like she's a miracle (which I was fine with, since she was). Okay, fine. That part made me happy. Then shooting erupts. What do the soldiers do? Do they throw themselves in front of the bullets to protect the only child on the planet? Do they toss kid and mom in a tank and drive them out of the war zone? NO! They turn their backs on the kid and go back to shooting. WHAT THE HECK!?

*sigh* Okay, I'm going to bed now. But seriously, I want to know what makes people (that's YOU, Snazz!) think "Children of Men" is worth watching. Because I didn't see it!
