I'm getting burnt by playing with Tir Ysgithr anymore:  I'm tired of showing up, putting myself out there, carrying myself with an optimistic demeanor, and being avoided, received without any enthusiasm, seeing an absolute lack of want for my presence, or having an elephant in the room for almost every conversation.

I still think you're pretty neat-o for what it's worth.

I haven't been out to much of anything due to various reasons, but I promise it's not that I'm ignoring you. It's tricky with the SCA; people can be strange sometimes, but that's the way it goes.

I'm always available to hang out, get crafty, do coffee or dinner or something. We can vent together. *huggles*

Oddly enough, I think she has dumped me as a friend. I don't seem willing to sacrifice my real friends to come hang with the "cool kids" and have real trouble dealing with their hypocrisy. Huh.

Do what makes you happy. If you are burnt dealing with this nonsense, play elsewhere, do something else. Or come hang with the people who aren't going to blow you off. I am in a perpetual awkward phase, but I genuinely enjoy your company.

Also, I think I should add that you have been very reserved lately. It seems like you are hard to track down and talk to. I am not trying to say that this is your fault, but if you are coming out after a break, it takes a little time for people to warm back up. I see it every time I take a few weeks off--I have to chase people down and break the ice a bit before the conversations return to their normal comfortable level. Maybe give people a bit of time to fall back into a routine with you before making all sorts of conclusions.

That's fair to say, but I haven't really taken any break longer than a week for Maryland and two weeks during the past two hitches. Still, I'll try to be better about this to see if it improves things and to avoid hypocrisy.
