Been pondering this for a little bit and thus far I've only come up with one answer.

Adaptability.

What other race lives so far spread, including in areas where life really shouldn't be possible?

I'd say that all human characters should have at least one manditory Flaw (like those found in White Wolf's system if I remember correctly). No one is perfect, and I demand that you take a flaw to demonstrate that fact.
