The color (colour) scheme is different from how it would be state-side, but yes, black in your case isn't a "good thing".
Around here, the lighter rain is usually in shades of green. Shades of blue are used for SNOW. Pinks for mixed precip. Yellow, Orange and shades of Red into Violet for thunderstorms.
So, if that was our local radar up here in the Maine Wilderness, there would be much freaking 'cause it would be a line of snow squalls with embedded thundersnow, probably threatening to dump 2 or 3 inches in of snow in as little as 15 minutes--very rare event. :)
Darling, does that mean I can't go out tomorrow in my high heels and pink hotpants? Or will it just drizzle? Maybe if I just take an umbrella it's okay?
I wonder if I should cake on my waterproof make-up? Mind you, I'd look like Pennywise ...
