All I've ever wanted, since year 4 primary school was to play and umpire on Artificial turf in hockey. Doesn't matter what division, really didn't matter with who, just to be on it.
Spent close to 4 years working my jr team up to turf level from the lowest grass level, then I grew too old to play in it, just as I succeeded.
Spent a few years learning how to play seniors and improving my skills, stuck on grass cause my team didn't have a turf team and I couldn't affort to go elsewhere that did. I finally got sick of being shafted with umpiring and moved to SBE.
The old coach didn't like me from get go there, and I was shafted to grass with the proviso I'd be pulled up to turf when needed, I never was but people who never wanted to be there and were much worse players (even in their opinions) were.
I stayed for a few years, improving my skills and causing people to notice me and then the turf coach left and the new coach saw potential, I stayed in turf for 2 years until last year when the low turf had 2 too many players and BWHA would only accept me and coy going down to grass, so we got shafted to playing both grass and turf, and for me also umpiring - my knees still haven't forgiven me.
So I packed up and left to Uni, where Meg has been trying to gewt me into their turf team for the last two years. I was accepted with welcome arms....untill a week before the first official game they got 'highest' division players come from mackay into my team and forced the team to drop players. The coach wanted me in her team, I was a hard and fair player with good skills but she didn't have a choice - BWHA allowances and being the newest forced her hand.
So I moved to SWU where I was guareenteed a spot on turf. What a mistake.
Loved the team, love the players, play well with them and have fun. I scored the first and only goal of the year until last night's game of which I caused the short corner that lead to us equalling the score and deflected a strike at goal that Sam the goalie wouldn't been able to get to (no offence she is a strong goalie).
The coach through out the 6 games we've played only put me and another girl on for less than half a game every game (We got less than 30 min total field time, while the game is 70 min) - while others got entire games. Just as I scored or defended well I get pulled off the field and normally just after that the opposition scores by the player I was marking before.
He scowled down and wouldn't accept every time I said that the only days coles gives me work is during hockey fitness training at sherwood on a tuesday nights which is true but I was always punctual and consistant during wednesday hockey trainings.
He's also been rude and offensive to the entire team when ever we put in effort but didn't get the desired results. Yes we frakked up, but we over came it and played better by the end, doesn't mean you have to crush our spirits to the point where we don't even want to recover.
I was put on the field, defended a brilliant shot at goal, one of my old team mates got injured, we pause as she's taken off, play starts and within 1 minute I'm taken off the field with no warning or reason beside "strategy to win" - SO coach did you want me to miss that deflection so that Coy's goal went through causing us to lose?
We win our first game, and he's not happy, and proceeded to crush us then says enjoy your win.
It's half way through a season. you expect us to bond and work together. Why switch around, and stuff up dyamics.
over all just frak off and let be be a turf player - I play better on a flat surface, I play faster and harder on a fake surface, let me be in my element. let me show my potential, just STOP F*cking with me.
