An old and slightly hoary question but one I've been reminded of while researching (again) a job possibilities.
Gender Restriction
Other Ranks (Non Technical), Other Ranks (Non Technical) (Reserve)
To be eligible for service as a(insert combat role here) you must be male. All ****) positions are direct combat positions and Government policy currently precludes women from being employed in these positions.
What country still has this brilliant idea? Australia, that's who....One word explains the restriction and the combat niches the recruiters try to con you out of...GRRRRRRRRRRR.

However, female personnel are capable of serving within Direct Combat Units (except Combat Engineer Squadrons) in combat support positions.
Really, what is the difference....
