Dear Rare Women writer

General notes:
Hello, and thank you in advance for writing for me! I promise I’m not hard to please-prompts are just prompts, so feels free to follow your muse off the rails!

General Dislikes: Excessively graphic violence, rape, incest, character bashing, mpreg, genderbending (unless canon), massive AUs, medical settings (modern/realistic).

General Likes: Angst, character moments, subtlety, friendship, hurt/comfort, minor character viewpoints.

Good lord, my Hellspark prompt is long. I assure you, it’s mostly due to that “any character” thing, and if we match on something else, I’ll be just as thrilled to get that story!

Hellspark: Any (Buntec, layli-layli calulan, Margaret Lord Lynn | Maggy, Tinling Alfvaen, Tocohl Susumo)
Oh, man. You have no idea how ridiculously excited I was that this made was on the list. I may have to go read the book again just because.
I absolutely LOVED the worldbuilding here, and the linguistics--the vivid (if simplified) cultures and languages all over the place.

All right, ideas! I love all these characters, so feel free to use one or all, mix or match, have at it!

Buntec: I’d love to see more of her odd friendship with Edge-of-Dark, if you’d care to bring her in, or perhaps her “metal thumb”. Is it an actual espability?

Layli-layli calulan: I’m fascinated by the idea off traditional healers, and would love to know more about her-how much of what she does is ‘physical medicine’, and how much is mental? What’s part of her psychic ability, and what works only because people believe in it-or is there a difference?
Or a random one: she and John the Smith are apparently good friends--good enough that she implicitly trusts him before they even mention their suspicions to Kejesli. Anything to tell there?

Maggy: What about something related to how she perceives and process everything differently than her companions? I’d love to have another peek at how her mind works! Or how about future applications of the Hellspark Ritual of Change?

Alfvaen: How about a duel? A real one, if you want to go for drama, or perhaps a mock-duel for Maggy’s benefit? I know she offered, but we didn’t get to see it! Or maybe we could see what was going through her mind when she fought Tocohl? (Also, she and swift-Kalat are absolutely adorable together, and I think I ship them as much as Maggy does.)

Tocohl: ..I’m having a hard time coming up with idea for her because, well, she already got her story. Though if you’ve also read Uhura’s Song and want to have her meet Tail-Kinker to-Ennien, that would be amazing.
Otherwise, there were a few noodle incidents in her past that could certainly have some light shed on them! Or future missions with Maggy! Or training with Si!

Or better yet...everyone, doing awesome, in-character things.

Other favorites include Edge-of-Dark, swift-Kalat, Om im, and any of the Sproojes.

Norse Mythology: Angrboða, Hel
If you offered both of them, I'd love to see a mother-daughter moment between these two. I'll bet there's something for Angrboða to teach Hel, perhaps about being a ruler…or you could go for whatever their version of fluff might be. Or focus on the relationship from one’s perspective later on.

Alternately, what about Hel's relationship with Loki? Or...what about with Baldur? After all, Loki may have killed Odin's son...but only after Odin banished Loki's daughter to the underworld. How might they interact, based on the relationship between their respective fathers?

Or Angrboða...according to what I've read, she was the beatiful, fearsome queen of a Jotun tribe, and I'd love it if you could work with that characterization. Perhaps how she felt about Loki, or even about Sigyn...or just scenes of her being an awesome warrior-queen.

Please avoid showing either Angrboða or Hel (or Loki, for that matter) as evil...though you certainly don't have to show them as purely good, either.

Star Trek: Voyager: Seven of Nine
I’d love to see something from Seven’s point of view-something involving her lack of understanding of the simple things in her crewmate’s lives, and a growing frustration about that fact. A frustration that, in and of itself, she doesn’t exactly understand…

You can ship her with either the Doctor or Janeway, or keep it gen. Or, heck, if you really see her with someone else…as long as you’re playing with all the complication and confusion implicit in such a setup, I’ll take it! I’ll even take Seven/Chakotay if you can make it not come right the heck out of nowhere. (I'm a fan of subtlety and even ambiguity in shipping, especially in a case like hers...and I'd prefer no established relationship fic.)

Nothing higher than PG13, please. I'm a big fan of angst for this one, but if you can work better with humor, or drama, or something else, that would be great too!
