I struck upon a good way to get a pre-concert jolt at the Sasquatch festival on Saturday night.

Step 1: Lose your cell phone
Step 2: Find it

The trouble was that had I not lost the phone, I might have gotten in to the inner circle for the Björk show at the end of the night. I may never know if there was a mosh pit going during "Pluto" and "Declare Independence". I always get stuck behind the people who stand motionless though the entire show (and didn't even god damned APPLAUD at the end of songs). Oh, and the crying gay guy. Actually, that was just this time.

Nevertheless, She of the Swan Dress did not disappoint, and I left the show feeling almost drunk despite not having a drop of alcohol that night. The Arcade Fire rocked too, although I was in an insane crush of people behind the barricade for that one.

Earlier in the day, I took what I thought were some decent photos with my cell phone, rather stupidly not realizing that the zoom on it was a digital zoom. Well, they still look all right at thumbnail size. And I don't have to put a cut on this entry.

(er, actually Michael Showalter, who signed my ticket, whee)

At the end of the night, I giddily went back to the car, drove past the freeway junction across the Columbia River from Vantage and put out my tarp and sleeping back at a spot off the highway. It was windy and sandy, but Ticketmaster didn't get another 40 bucks of my money. Suck it!
