How ARE you? Ok, I don't really care, let's talk about me.

So...

A year ago I was furloughed (laid-off) from my job with the Airline. As much as working there, in a call center, was a complete hell hole, it afforded me a decent income, and a chance to travel on a whim.

I did various things during that year. At some point I may talk about them, or I may not. Nothing is truly THAT interesting, but the main bullet points are :

-I grew into my skin as post-obese gay man.

-I fell in love, made a go of it, and was horribly rejected.

-I drank to a point where I became seriously, seriously worried about my well being.

Skip to a month ago, when my friend Jan (a sixty year old badass with the mind of an owl and a tenacity of a mule), forwarded me a job opportunity within the airline industry again, this time as a flight attendant.

I applied, and tonight here I am, cozy-ed up in my hotel room as I study for my flight ops test tomorrow morning.

Yup, I've fulfilled my gay destiny, joining others in the sky as they ferry the whining public from coast to coast. Ok, well really from small west coast town to larger west coast city in my case, but we all start small.

Currently, a hotel in Portland, Oregon, is my home. I'm here until mid-November. Goddess willing, I will stay here. I've taking a serious liking to Portland, and Oregon in general. Read any article on Portland and you will read of the quirkiness and merits of the citizenry here. I fit right in, apparently. Otherwise, I will be moving to Seattle. My life is really not in my hands right now, and I'm ok with that, as the job is awesome.
