The Halloween party went great, all the Australians dressed up! Earlier that day I had seen some kids dressed in costumes at the shopping mall, and several shops had Halloween props up in the windows (witches hats, etc.) So I guess Halloween is spreading

Just wanted to let you know that we're back at work in Baton Rouge! I hadn't been able to communicate before, but now I'm settled in our "new" office (an old building in LSU South Campus) I have to drive EVERYDAY from Kenner! But we'll probably stay in a FEMA trailer soon (we can't afford the gas anymore!). A lot of people are staying in the Finish ferry, but the rooms there are VEEEERY small, plus we can't leave our Pooch alone. We'll probably stay in Baton Rouge until August!!!! Bad news, Michael got "furloughed" and we don't know if they'll take him back when we go back to N.O. Bert and Greg retired, so now it's just Diana, Sharon, Jamie, Kenny, and me.
So weird that they don't celebrate Halloween over there, but you say they do the Queen's birthday, is that the equivalent? (haha!)
Give me a call when you come back to the States (YAY!!) I'm sure you won't miss the doggie, huh? I'll call the people at Party City in Buffalo to have a welcome party for you!! (with tons of streamers, decorations made out of construction paper, and cheap pinatas!)
