It would probably be a lot easier for me to adjust here in Australia if I were from some third world country (yes, I know, New Orleans is "third world and proud of it"). I get aggravated over some of the business practices here, such as starting all the supermarket sales (and stocking) on MONDAYS...whose brilliant idea was that? Everyone has to go back to work on Monday!
Back home, it was all done on a Sunday, and it worked out great...
And what about the ridiculous Saturday hours that the shops keep here? Closing early, and sometimes not open at all! Do these business owners realize that since most people are off work on Saturday, it should be the main shopping day? Does it make any sense at all to have the supermarket shelves empty all day on a Sunday?
Just a little rant...I'm homesick, I miss the rampant capitalism of back home...
