Ok, just looked at the radar - and even though I'm halfway around the world here in Australia, I'm PANICKING for NEw ORleans!!! I remember how it felt when Hurricane Georges was coming - I was freaking out, the whole town was boarded up and deserted, and we were trapped like rats in a cage...and then the hurricane miraculously veered off two hours

Seriously... how did you handle the constant hurricanes/warnings when you lived there? My husband sort of wants to move there, but it seems like in the fall, that stuff is always happening. Dunno if I could hang!

Well, it's kind of like once it's over, you forget about it (til the next time, and then you're like, "why the HECK do I live here? We're all going to die!).
This time though, is different...the most catastrophic hurricane to hit since 1950 was Hurricane Betsy in 1965(or around there). It was only a category 3! If this hits, it'll be one to remember for years to come...
Geez, if you really want to move there, I can give you the pros and cons... I always tell people it's a classic case of "nice place to visit but you wouldn't want to live there". Not to say I don't miss is terribly...if your hubby gets really serious about it, I will be happy to give you a resident's view...
