Initech

Something just occured to me the other day as I was walking around the new building that the office moved into. I noticed a sign on one of the walls that read thusly "INTECH". This is nothing out of the ordinary seeing as how I do work now in Intech Industrial Park. However, Intech is just one letter away from being Initech, which if some of you may recall is the name of the coporation that the guys in "Office Space" work for. This then had me looking around the office the rest of the day and noticing just how close the movie and my current job are. The goings on and the people around me aren't quite as outlandish as those in the movie, but the basic personalities are there. What this had led me to is an idea for the styles class that I am taking in which we have to come up with our own one person shows. I'm thinking of calling it 5'x5',roughly the size of the cubicle that I occupy, and making it all about the government work that I have done over the past three summers. It should be really fun, the only problem that I can foresee is editing it all down to fit in a 10 to 15 minute block of time.

Speaking of work, I just realized that after today I have only one week left. Then it's time to kick back for a couple of weeks until school starts. I'm thinking about taking a trip to D.C. sometime in there to visit my friend Adam who's interning at the senate. Again, back to work, I find it funny that on monday I will finally be doing the startup interview for my government background check. You know, the one that I'm supposed to have before they OK me to work in a government trust position (did I mention that I leave in a week?). It's ok though, I have the same lady that did my investigation two years ago and she was really nice. The main reason that I'm going through with the investigation is because she gets paid by the job, and she wants the money. Just remember, if any of you get called up by a government representative, I didn't do it. If all goes as planned, I should be cleared for government work sometime in late October(yeah, it takes that long).

This weekend should be jam packed with Muncie fun and theater. That is, if the weather cooperates. We shall see. Oh well... looks like I've put off work long enough. See you on the flip side!
