This past weekend was another fun time in Muncie and another welcome distraction from the work world. I hung out quite a bit with Devon, who will soon be occupying space at the PHARM, which was nice seeing as how I haven't been around the kid in a while. I also was visited by some other familiar faces from the past.
Friday night started off under the guise of a boring and uneventful evening. Then Bret got a hold of Devon and after picking him up and making a stop at Meijer we got back to the house and promptly headed out to see some friends of Bret's. From there, Devon, Darren, and I went over to one of Devon's friend's house. The end result of the evening was that I got to meet some new people, something I don't do often as I have a slight dislike of strangers. After all was said and done I finally crawled into bed at about 5 am.
Saturday I slept in until one, something that I haven't been able to do in a long time. Most of the day was spent waking up and watching a marathon of Mythbusters. (I love that show) Around 6 everyone got dressed and groomed, sort of, and we all went over to Wal-Mart to get a house picture taken. Sean won a free print from some contest at Wal-Mart so we all used it. What we didn't know was that we would be grifted into buying $40 worth of pictures. Oh well, they turned out great and were hilarious to boot. After that Bret, Darren, and I went over to Thai Smile to celebrate Devon's birthday with him. It was interesting to meet some of his other friends and the food wasn't bad either. I got the Mongolian Barbeque which was exquisite. Bret on the other hand wasn't as enthused about his meal, Pad Thai, which he affectionately referred to on his doggie bag as peanut butter chicken noddle soup shit, or on the check as 'B'ad Thai. After dinner People that I hadn't seen in a while came over to the house to start the second leg of evening festivities. Ray, Matt, and Anna, the later two of which I didn't know that well but ended up liking, came over first with Devon followed soon after by John Olson. We all caught up for a little bit then the first couple of names went to grad their overnight stuff while John and I went to Wal-Mart to get booze. It was during this time that John stated "I like going alcohol shopping, it's like a candy store for adults." After getting back and taking a few shots toasting to quotes from the movie "Troy" Devon and I introduced the non Ball Staters to Carter. Needless to say there were no complaints. The rest of the evening saw us going to visit a few more friends of Devons with everyone retiring for the evening rather late. Once again a slunk off to bed at 5 am.
Sunday I slept until one again, then woke up and checked on my house guests. After everyone was awake we all went to IHOP where I learned that the BSU IHOP is superior to the lack of IHOP at IU. After that the crew left and I took a nap before heading back home. That night I went to John's house back in Indy and watched the Tony's. It was a pretty eventful ceremony this year with very few surprises, but definetly got me excited to plan a possible trip to NY at the end of the summer. Anyway, that was my weekend. Now it's back to killing more time before the quitting bell. Tchues!
