Puppy!!!
We ended up getting a new puppy on Monday night. His name is Shadow (AKC registered as Shadow Ethelwolf) and he's a 3.5 month old Siberian Husky.
We stopped at Petland because one of the people in our group wanted to see some baby ferrets that they had in. We were walking around the store looking at the puppies and saw this one in the cage. He was laying there half asleep as everyone walked by and looked at him, until my best friend passed with her Eyore backpack/purse. He got up instantly and started pouncing at the glass trying to get through it.
We got him out of the cage and into a room, where we started playing with him. We instantly knew that whatever it took, we were bringing him home with us.
We found out that he had been there for almost a month, and nobody had taken him out in 4 days before us. He is big for his age, 24 pounds. One of the sales girls said as we were checking out that she was glad he was going home, the big ones usually don't and he wasn't going to be there much longer. We believe he only had 2 more days until the 1-month mark when he would be euthanized.
He was originally $1300, which would be a good price for a purebred AKC-registered Husky alone. Because of how long he had been there, the price was reduced to $800. They also give up to $300 off if you buy $300 in supplies, so we actually got him for $500.

Everyone in my group of friends (roommates, practically family) planned on adopting another pup from the pound, like the 9 month old American Bulldog that they got a month or so ago.
But, we saw him and fell in love. We knew we had to have him, and he really is a rescue as I said above (just an expensive one!).
