You know, I was having a think yesterday at work. What if Muggles had something like this? You know, a journal system where they could rant on at the world and talk to each other. I wonder if they do. I mean, they have equivalents for most of our types of magic, so I do suppose they might ( Read more... )

Arthur, my dear brother! I will most certainly drop by. You know how much I love your wife's fruit pies. Although I don't think she appreciated it last time when I ate the whole thing before dinner. Ah, no matter.

I'll take your oldest children (Bill, Charlie, and Percy of course, but I have to admit I have a slight tendency to prefer Bill, as he is my namesake) around your garden and teach them how to properly remove a gnome, how about that? Let me assure you, it's quite a thrill!

That's...well, one of those things. She lives, she knows you like the pies and don't do it to spite her. Well, I hope you don't do it to spite her.

BIAS! I detect bias! But that sounds like a plan. Watch Percy in the garden, though, he doesn't like the mud much.

No, of course I don't do it to spite her. Who can resist an unguarded piping hot rhubarb pie when it is innocently sitting on a counter, waiting to be eaten? Certainly not me, that's who.

Blimey, doesn't like the mud? What kind of little boy is he? I believe he will be given a mud bath, just so he can see how entertaining wet dirt can be.

Luckily for the pie and the rest of us, it's apple today.

He's...an odd little boy, admittedly, but don't tease him, he gets enough of that from his brothers.

Apple? Still fantastic! But I'll allow the rest of the house to have a piece or two before I take, or else there won't be any left for anyone.

Alright, alright, I won't tease him. When we degnome the garden, he can, er, watch to make sure that they don't come back. Or something. We'll find him a job that doesn't involve mud.

When's Molly due? She must be big as a house by now.

I will hold you back myself. As a noble sacrifice to my family. Or...something like that.

Or just distract him from the fact there's so much mud, that might work just as well.

Sometime in early March. Bit to go yet.

Now, now, Arthur, no need for anyone to get violent. I have perfectly good self-control when it comes to Molly's pies. I'm totally lying.

Percy's a good boy. Very ambitious for such a young age. He'll one day give Millicent Bagnold a run for her money when it comes to being minister.

I've been dabbling in divination recently, and just so you know, my tea leaves told me that you're having a girl. Do with it what you will.

Oh...really. You didn't have much self control when it came to mum's cooking. And you know Molly's is ten times as good.

He is. it scares me a little. He'll be a hard working lad, that's for sure. Might combat the silliness elsewhere in our family.

Divination? Dammit, I really wanted a girl. And now the tea leaves have said it, we're stuffed. Sigh.

Mmm...just thinking about Mum's cooking is making my stomach gurgle. Do you think if I pop over to the burrow now, Molly would fix me a snack? The only food I have in my flat is some trifle leftover from Christmas. It's getting stale, I think.

Hey, don't scoff at my divination skills just yet, brother. I recently predicted that we would have a thunderstorm, and lo! I was correct. So I'd start buying some girls' baby clothes. Have you picked out a name yet?

And I used to think you were the older, responsible one. Here I am feeding you. Come over, you're always welcome, you know that. Also, throw that trifle out, for the good of everyone's health.

Did you predict that by looking at the clouds? Because that's meteorology and not so flash. Go, go buy. We're having a girl, no matter what. And...actually no.

I will be over tonight with an empty belly and an open mouth. I just harvested some self-fertilising shrubs, so I'll bring them over as a gift. They're really quite handy.

Might I suggest Bilhelmina? It is quite a charming name, I think.

Oooh, a shrubbery! And do come over, it makes life more...entertaining?

That is one to go straight on the no list, thank you for your help.

Well, good to know that you see me as a source of entertainment, brother. Will the donning of wizarding robes be required? I just got a new flowered shirt well, I duplicated one of my old shirts and I want to show it off.

No need to be snippy, Arthur. I suppose you'd prefer...Artemis?

rex_futurus January 19 2008, 17:45:44 UTC
Robes? You could turn up in a spandex jumpsuit and I wouldn't turn you away. By the way, please DON'T. But by all means, flowered shirts are all the rage with my seven year old.

I'm kidding. Nah, not particularly. Difficult to choose a name, after picking five.

Sounds fabulous then.

I'll tell you what. I'm about to cross breed two different species. So whatever you name your next child is what I will name the new species!

Are your wife's brothers around? I've always enjoyed their company.

Oh, now you're putting pressure on me to come up with something good. Or you're just copping out yourself.

I think Fabian's going home some time soon, but he's still here at the moment. And where Fabian is, Gideon usually is.
