while staring at my car's license plate and pondering the unfairness of the world (you'll feel that way when you're turning 23 in a few days and STILL aren't allowed by your mom to drive around by yourself, much less go out by yourself. ^_____^;) and i noticed something preeety weird.
seems my plate number is 743. which to some very superstitious chinese people (my old friend bibi comes to mind. ^____^; she was the one who told me about the meaning of these numbers.) means "go die". this is because the numbers, when spoken aloud in chinese with a different intonation, mean:
7 = 去 = go
4 = 死 = die
3 = 了 = (is a word that sort of "closes up" the statement)
(except for 3. i don't know who came up with the idea that a 3 looks like 了. jeeez. ^___^) i don't believe in this, though it is a cool ass way to scare some chinese on the road. mwahahhhhhahhhahhaha! :D
