last days
Uhm. I haven’t been on here in ages. I fell in love with tumblr (like a lot of people have). But I want to come back here as my friend hollsh did because I’m more comfortable with the format for writing personal posts. So!! I have a lot that I need to catch you up on. And since I’m not a good writer at all and I want to get this over with, I will do it in a list of BULLET POINTS.
- This was a REALLY challenging year professionally. My anxiety was not helped by this year.
- I have not gotten my driver’s license. I was anxious about it and didn’t give a fuck. After failing the driver’s test twice last summer, I just stopped practicing. I haven’t mentioned that my learner’s permit has expired.
- I still have the car, tho. I love Nubie. I’ll never give her up. Thus…
- I had to give up my chance to go to CONvergence (to the 20th Anniversary Gathering of the Gargoyles! Friends I’ve never met before!) when Nubie’s engine broke and I had to pay back $800. I’m just a TA, that’s difficult. But I’ve done it. Not that I was too broken up about it because…
- I regained a LOT of weight. After being so happy and making a big deal about it, I was ashamed to meet my friends. So…I was actually a little happy Nubie broke like that. Sure, I COULD have used the con as impetus to get back on the wagon, but I’d regained SO MUCH, along with the huge amount I still needed to get rid of to look DECENT, and I didn’t have much time. I didn’t see it as worth the effort. So I didn’t. I am so sorry, any fandom friends still around to even see this and care. Also, sorry, my Canadian friends. I can’t see you, either. I would cry.
- Also, my side of the house has been a mess constantly for months. I...think I’m depressed or something, I’ve never been this bad. Not so CONSISTENTLY.
- In good news, I started an art class a few weeks ago. I like it! I’m…kinda bad at practicing, and I’ve already owned the book the class is based on for a long time to I was familiar with some of material already, but I’ve learned a few things. Also, I feel that if I can make it through this class, I can get more into art. It’s a personal challenge.
- I’ve also created more with my conlang, Basmai. While it’s in almost constant revision, I have made an alphabet, with a few “posters” featuring it up on my DA account: [popular food] and [popular drinks]. More are coming, I swear. And more, once I get off my ass and post them.
- I’m getting back on the health wagon this summer, starting with water consumption tomorrow.
- SCHOOL IS OUT FOR THE SUMMER. WOO HOOOOOO!!
- Also, I have REALLY gotten into One Piece and Steven Universe in the past year. My [tumblr] is full of it. Usopp and Pearl are my favorite characters. Behold, my favorite drawing from Rebecca Sugar where she combines the two and it is impossibly fabulous:
