MLP: Friendship is Magic
FABULOUS. It started slow, but then RAINBOW DASH WAS A WRECKING BALL and everything was cool. (Though, Twilight was freaking the fuck out. I’m not sure I’d say the others were being entirely insensitive. And that’s all I’ll say, because I think there are people on my list that honestly haven’t seen it yet.
Yu-Gi-Oh! ZeXal (or ZECKSAL, since they’re trying to force that on us):
Several things gave me hope:
1. Yuuma and ‘Tori (the fuck, you couldn’t say her whole name?). I LIKED them. A lot. They didn’t sound fucking dumb (which would be easy to do for both of them, considering the sort of characters they are).
2. I don’t know about the rest of Zexal fans, but I don’t know if I hate “feeling the flow” as a translation of “kattobingu”. For the longest time, I was dreading it. I imagined 4Kids would use “BaddaBING!” instead…which would hurt my heart. Seriously.
3. Have I mentioned that I love Yuuma and ‘Tori? ‘Cause I did.
4. It was a tiny thing at the end, BUT THEY DIDN’T CENSOR ASTRAL. Oh, thank goodness. I was SO worried that 4Kids would spray paint some underwear on him or something, even though ze is sexless and there’s nothing to see. I can’t comment on hir VA because ze barely said anything.
Several things that made me die a little inside:
EVERYTHING ELSE.
1. Oh, Shark…Ryouga, my darling, they wronged you SO BAD with that “typical bully” voice…my heart pained for you. I wanted to cry.
2. Tetsuo…I’m sorry, I didn’t understand the name they gave you. And your voice was….okay after the first half of the show…but jeez...
3. Don’t talk to me about the opening. DON’T. There will be tears. TEARS.
4. “Zeus’…” …LOOK, 4KIDS DIPSHITS. It’s enough that you’re fucking up “ZeXal”, but Greek mythology?? CLEARLY THAT IS POSEIDON. It’s fucking “POSEIDON WAVE”.
5. "Duel Fuel"...?
So…I’ll try again, and there will be more tears, I imagine. I’M DOING THIS FOR YOU, YUUMA.
EDIT: Uh oh, guess [I was wrong about them not censoring Astral] (which is stupid as fuck). Nooo, I was really happy about that.
