The music was also redone, and it sounds very epic. Sometimes, a little too much so, but I still like it. I would like a soundtrack.

However, it does bring me to comment on this:

Hee hee.

But, seriously. I hate the style of Toriyama work that isn't NEW (it's probably bee around since 1998 or 2000), but you know it's updated from the old work, like the first two panels. I couldn't put my finger on what bothered me so much about it until now:

Their mouths are too close too their noses.

They are over-muscled, too, even more so than in Toriyama's old work, but...it's DBZ, that's pretty much a given. The mouth thing is what bothers me most. I mean, look at this.

Better, right? Well...not AS retarded-looking. Heavy bottom-lip emphasis also bothers me, but I didn't edit that out completely. That wasn't my point. But I did take out the cheek line...thing. It made him look much older than he actually is to me. One little line, I know.

The whole face composition just doesn't work, I'm just pointing out one of the symptoms, I guess.

I know what you're saying. "But Vegeta's mouth is right up at his mose in the bottom one, too!" But his mouth is also open, while the others are not. And What I find creepy about the "updated style" is that it gives them such a HUGE chin by default (Characters like Mr. Satan are supposed to have huge chins, so I can't really say that for them.)

So...yeah. I hate this style. And that's fair to say because the new opening (which I think the voice actor for Krillin is singing...not important, he just sounds a little more badass than I remember) is animated in this, and I hate it. Than goodness the reanimated scenes aren't done in that style, or I would scream.

Also, I think the noses are insanely annoying, but..that's anime, for ys.

art critique, anime, pics, robyn is a bitch
