AT WORK: THANK YOU FOR BEING A YAAR

I got Salman Rushie's The Satanic Verses maybe a month or so ago, but I haven't read it because, honestly, it just HURTS to read it without notes. I don't know what the fuck he's talking about half of the time because there's so much Arabic, Hindi, Urdu, and Farsi in it. It makes me very sad, because I did not grow up around said languages.
