Sita Sings the Blues EVERYONE. WATCH THIS. This is such a good movie.
"Sita is a goddess separated from her beloved Lord and husband Rama. Nina is an animator whose husband moves to India, then dumps her by e-mail. Three hilarious shadow puppets narrate both ancient tragedy and modern comedy in this beautifully animated interpretation of the Indian epic Ramayana. Set to the 1920’s jazz vocals of Annette Hanshaw, Sita Sings the Blues earns its tagline as “The Greatest Break-Up Story Ever Told.”"
Personally, I can't stand the story of Sita in the Ramayana. It makes me SO ANGRY. And it's not because of this movie, I don't think I ever liked it. But the movie's animated so well and the narrators are so funny and the music's awesome. GO LOOOK.
So awesome. I'm so getting it when it comes on on DVD (whenever that is).
That's the only Hindu icon I have right now. Sorry.
