Job Update
I accepted a summer position at a YMCA camp in Framingham. I'm one of the supervisors and I love being part of a summer camp environment. The camp I'm working at is called Camp OCP. It's an educational camp for children going into grades K - 5. Everyweek is a new theme, where the counselors read a new book to the kids everyday, and the entire day has games and activities that relate to the book.
Unfortuantely, I was sent home on my 2nd day because my CORI has still not come in. If it's not one thing, then it's the next. I also took the job because they told me that if the summer works out, then I may be able to get a full-time job in the fall as a Site Coordinator. Except today, I noticed they are advertising for the job I want in the fall. This pisses me off so much... I'm afraid the YMCA is using me for the summer and dropping me in the fall. I wrote my supervisor an email re-stating that I'm interested in that position. I really hope she's not playing me...
The 4th of July weekend was really fun. Stace and I went up to her summer cottage (along with the rest of her extended family) and basically partied with them the entire weekend. We slept outside in a tent, which I don't mind... I love camping. We swam in the ocean, caught crabs at the rocks, and had a campfire every night. My idea of summer.
