This weekend was Boston Pride. It was fabulous, per usual. Too bad it down-poured during the parade. We still had a great time anyway.
I've become a runner for this company called TaskRabbit. TaskRabbit is a company that helps with bringing the community together to complete tasks. Basically, people post online a task or errand then need to be completed. It can be anything from going to the grocery store to setting up furniture from IKEA. The runner's bid on how much money they want the person to pay them, depending on how difficult or easy the task is. Yesterday I got my first task.
I drove to Palmer to pick-up a blind woman from a funeral and dropped her off in Natick, at her work. I got $45 for this task. I did out the math, and it really would have only cost me almost $11 for gas for this task, so I made out well. Also, the blind woman asked if I would be interested in helping her out from time to time, without going through TaskRabbit...and she pays really well. :)
Last night, Stacey and I met up with one of Stace's mentor's while growing up. They invited us over their house for dinner. Stacey's past mentor, Becky, and her partner, Susan, both have serious medical issues and need help with errands. So this week, they employed me to run errands and get some yardwork done for them. I'm also babysitting twice and I have a DJ gig on Saturday. As I said before, I'm the hardest working unemployed person you'd ever meet. I'm making lots of money this week.
We chatted with Becky and Susan for a long time and Stacey updated them on everything that has been going on in her life. Becky made a comment that is sooo true. She said something like, "You two seem to be the most stable people compared to everyone in your lives." And it's true. Our love is genuine. Our relationship is perfect. There has been a lot of drama within the past month with our friends and family, but our love is pure and right. And that's what we have going on for us.
