I'm going to be running a vidshow for Anime Detour this year. Not an AMV show. A straight up vidshow. Our attendees love AMVs. The rooms with AMV shows are always packed and we have 6-7 of them throughout the weekend. But I often wish they could have some exposure to vids too. So I've decided to give it a shot and see how it goes. Maybe two people will show up or maybe 200 will. We'll see.
So I'm trying to come up with examples that would appeal to a crowd that's used to AMV-style editing (visually oriented, effects heavy, fast-paced). Also, ones that can play to a big audience in a con setting that don't require much source knowledge. Trying to steer a bit clear of shipper vids for that reason, but not totally adverse to them.
I know we've got a big subset of Doctor Who fans in our attendee base, which works in my favor. I'd probably be sneaking at least one Sherlock vid in too, even if I didn't know there was a Sherlock-themed room party happening. (Who are you, mysterious local Sherlockians! Why do I not know you already? Do I know you already? I will stop by your party and we will become friends. Yes.)
Anyone have suggestions? I don't have a whole lot of freetime these days, so some crowdsourcing help would be hugely appreciated!
