Apparently I have been jonesing for new Merlin way more than I realized because I enjoyed the ever loving fuck out of that episode.
And straightaway there is banter and adorableness and Uther is out of the picture and Arthur is all in charge and every knight continues to look stunningly amazing in every way I can think of and the plot got all serious, which I've been waiting for since I first started watching this show. *BREATHES* Itwasgoodformeokay?
Still upset at their handling of Morgana's character arc to get her to this point, but now that we're there I'm just going to enjoy Katie McGrath getting her Bellatrix Lestrange on and being flatout evil nonstop.
Gwen isn't taking care of Uther because she likes him. She's taking care of him because of Arthur's massive daddy issues. She and Merlin should form a club or something.
Has Merlin's last name really never been mentioned before on this show? I just assumed that everyone knew he's Merlin Emrys. Apparently not, I guess.
The poor people of Albion. Every other week they need to go huddle at the castle for shelter.
SHOCK OF SHOCKS, DARK-HAIRED ADVISOR WHO WE HAVE NEVER SEEN BEFORE AND HAS QUASI-SUCCESSION TO THE THRONE IN A CRISIS IS EVIL!
Every time Merlin and Arthur play the "No, I'm going to die for you, you ass." game, I am delighted.
Percival's armor makes no sense, but I choose to believe that his biceps are made of pure steel instead. This is the clear, rational explanation.
And then Arthur and Merlin had a completely adorable bonding moment before Merlin sacrificed himself to save Arthur when they should have been huddling together for warmth.
CAN WE OUT MERLIN'S MAGIC TO ARTHUR YET, SHOW? OPLZ?
Mostly I missed seeing everyone's faces on my TV.
