WHOOOOOOOO

Although in truth I knew that there would be a cliffhanger from shortly after it aired in the UK. Such are the trials of having international friends and twitter. Goes with the territory.

My guess is that it's the Doctor himself in the space suit who kills himself at the beginning of the episode. Wait, scratch that. It's River, isn't it? It's totally River when she first meets him. Because that is just the right amount of Moffat circuitous continuity and ANGST. (ACTUALLY spoil me or hint in any way if you know something about this and die a fiery death at my hands.)

Mark Sheppard doing an American accent in a British show set in America. There is something ironic and simply wonderful about this.

New aliens are SCARY AS FUCK. A whole new generation of children will be unable to sleep tonight.

I'm loving the American setting as well. I always sort of enjoy looking at my own country through the perception of other countries. I think it's endlessly interesting.

A touch more River backstory in this episode, lovely. A locked door! How's a girl supposed to resist? She is so like the Doctor at times and that's why I love her. And her flirty banter with him is to die for. Her talking about how every time she sees him, he knows her a bit less absolutely breaks my heart. At some point I won't be able to watch Silence in the Library anymore without weeping uncontrollably from start to finish.

But anyway, sadness aside, they are back! Amy! Rory! River! The Doctor! In the TARDIS! Having ADVENTURES! I missed this show like crazy.

ETA: Sorry for the ever changing content. I keep thinking of other things that I loved about this episode and wanting to go back and add them, haha.

Things I have also learned today: Checking the Sherlock tag on Tumblr on a Doctor Who day will result in SPOILERS. RAR. Will not be doing that for many a Saturday to come.
