Member voting for MAS's spring semester lineup opens later tonight. It seems like this semester we've got a whole lot of really good shows to choose from on one side and a whole lot of really crappy shows to choose from on the other, with very little in between.
So, what the hell, here's my list of endorsements. I'd be pleased with any of these if they were voted in.
Bounen no Xam'd (Xam'd Lost Memories)
I know next to nothing about this show, but it comes highly recommended by people whose opinions I trust. So it is on my "must watch" list at the moment. Getting to see it in MAS would help with that quite a bit! Based on the clip we watched during the preview night tonight, it looks very character driven and has an interesting world that it takes place in.
Casshern Sins
I've watched 4-5 episodes of this already. Frankly, it's gorgeous. I love the post-apocalyptic setting. The action is fantastic. And I'd really like to finish watching it!
Darker Than Black
I watched about half of this a few years back and really enjoyed it. Again, great characters, great action. Really solid show. Another I'd like to finish watching. (Are we sensing a theme?)
Eden of the East
This is probably the best anime to come out of Japan in the last three years. It's scope is so big, and it's handled so well. Lots of international intrigue and action, but it never loses sight of its characters. It absolutely must be watched in MAS at some point. We would be remiss if we did not.
Ghost Hound
I don't know how to describe Ghost Hound other than to say it's really interesting and not much like anything else I've seen in anime before. It's good stuff.
Lovely Complex
Happy romantic comedy between a tall girl and a short boy, b'awwwww.
Moribito: Guardian of the Spirit (Seirei no Moribito)
I have been meaning to watch this forever. I adore strong female characters in anime when they're done right, and everything I've seen of Balsa tells me I will not be disappointed on that front.
Sailor Moon: Sailor Stars
STOP JUDGING ME. I LOVE IT.
Ironically, I'm not including Ouran High School Host Club even though it's in my icon for this post. I love the show to bits, but it's still too recent in my memory, and there's so many great shows here that I haven't seen yet.
As always, you can find more information about these and probably some clips via
Votaku. :D
