FOR SCIENCE!

I need your help, internets. For reasons that do not need explaining at this juncture, I require assistance nailing down the ten most important internet memes anyone should know.

Yes, it's a heavy burden. But with your assistance I trust I can do this thing in an empirical way.

So vote for the lulz if you have a moment.

I'd add one of the horrible gross out sex related ones. Goatse, Lemon Party, Tubgirl, Two Girls One Cup (or better and less gross, Two Girls One Cup reaction vids), etc.

True enough, but this must be kept PG-13. Yes, I know. The irony of trying to make internet lulz fit into the PG-13 box.

Should I be glad, proud, or out of the loop that I recognize about 5 of those?

In the process of doing this, I'm realizing just how extensive my useless knowledge of the internet really is. Every time I start googling one meme I wind up remembering ten others and ten variations of those that I'd forgotten. So it's probably a good thing. Use your spare brainpower for good, not whatever this is.

I think we should have levels of knowledge and find out where our audience is at and procede from there.

That makes preparation difficult though. There will likely be no internet in that room.

It's generally "Hueg" not "Huge" for XBox as far as I knew it? Though it looks like that's not gonna make it anyway.

Well yes, but then do you also write it Hueg Liek Xbox? And then it just gets into weird capitalization territory. I went for the standard spelling rather than overthink it.

It's a bit old meme by now I suppose too, yeah. They just don't make memes like they used to I guess.

But is the point of the panel to only cover new memes, or to help people understand the classics? Or both? I mean, Hueg Liek Xbox and RickRoll are both "old meme" but they're classics and they're not going anywhere.

The angle I'm coming at it from is as a basic primer to what a meme is. So yeah, a combination of the classics and some of the newer stuff. I think we've got a decent cross section from the voting results thus far actually.

If there's time we can of course cover more.
