I'm just sayin...

So, yesterday I turned 16. It's very strange.

I've decided it's not so much wierd to be 16 as it is to say I'm 16. I guess it's just the attachments that come with turning 16. Plus, 16 is one of those ages that you alays pretend to be when you're younger, and I guess now that it's here it's wierd because it used to seem so much older than it feels.

16 is one of those years where you learn to grow up I think. Well, that's what I've assumed having watched my friends who have been 16 or are 16.

It's exciting though. I mean...I'm getting my license, and it's a source of freedom somewhat. It's the fact that I know there will be times I can just go drive alone, and listen to the music as loud as I want. That's exciting.

Aside from turning 16, I started reading a book entitled, "Searching for God Knows What" by Donald Miller. He was talking about how peoples perception of God is so limiting to who God really is, and he talked about people who are "imposters" of God. He says, "You know, the real problem with God-imposters is that they worship a very small god, a god who exists simply to validate their identities. This god falls apart as soon as they touch him, as soon as you start asking very basic questions about the sanctity of all human life, the failure of combat mentality, and the lustful love of power."

Thought I'd share that. I share a lot of quotes from books. It's good stuff.
